Two months ago senior Destiny Hazeri participated in a fundraiser to raise money for the Raphael House of Portland, a nonprofit domestic violence shelter for women and children. On Oct. 17, Hazeri helped with the two hour auction that was held by the Raphael House of Portland. It ended up being a very successful night.

“We raised about $400,000 in about two hours,” Hazeri stated. “There were a lot of people who wanted to contribute to something that would help a lot of people.” Most of the money was raised through the auction, but they received many donations as well.

Although it was her first time taking part in this kind of fundraiser, it was a very enjoyable experience that she would be excited to do again. “I would be absolutely honored and I would love to do it again,” she said.
