Mogesi Swaps
Mogesi Swaps is a clothing swap business started by LOHS juniors Georgia Truax, Morgan Croteau, and Siena Bovich. Mogesi receives clothes from anyone willing to donate and prices them accordingly before reselling them at their clothing sales. Once an item is purchased, the original seller and Mogesi will split the profits 50/50. Whatever isn’t sold is either returned to the original seller or donated to a local nonprofit. In the past, Mogesi has donated items to Clothing 4 Cancer and Madewell’s recycling program. “We all are really interested in fashion and just noticed a lot of negative fast fashion trends that were happening, especially through social media, and we wanted to find a way to slow down the process, I’m proud of how we’ve grown and how we’ve used social media, especially to just get our name out there,” stated Croteau, explaining the importance of digital marketing in launching and growing a small business. The entrepreneurial trio hopes to expand their business to work with a larger range of nonprofits in the future and are excited to host more sales very soon. “It’s going to take time to get to the place you want to be, but with hard work and patience you will get there,” explained Bovich. Mogesi plans to have another sale soon, so keep a look out on their Instagram and give them a follow @mogesi.swaps to stay up to date!
Troj Visuals
If you’re on Instagram at all, chances are you’ve probably seen edits or photos by Troj Visuals. Troj Visuals is a photography business started by LOHS junior Alex Trojan. He started his business in December of 2023, and since then, he has taken photos for the LOHS boys basketball, football and soccer teams, as well as our girls basketball and soccer teams. The ability to capture moments in time and turn them into creative pieces of art is something that Trojan has practically mastered, and he loves that this skill allows him to construct something meaningful for clients. “I’m most proud of the videos I make because I put the most work and time into them,” stated Trojan. “I think people really appreciate them, and it’s really cool to see how they react,” he explained, noting that the best part of his job is seeing how much his products mean to the recipient. Make sure to give @trojvisuals a follow on Instagram so you can watch Trojan’s photography journey and stay up to date with LOHS school sports. If you are interested in booking with Troj Visuals, contact Trojan via DM on Instagram.
Hannah J. Crochets
There aren’t many better options for gifts than a handmade crochet item made by LOHS junior Hannah Waxman. Waxman is the owner of Hannah J. Crochets where she sells her handmade fiber arts via Instagram. Waxman started crocheting in 2023 and since then her business has taken off with online commissions and displays at in-person shops. “I love crocheting, and I want to share my creations with other people so they can enjoy them as well,” stated Waxman. In the past, Waxman has crocheted tapestry blankets, shirts, plushies, bags, and flowers on commission. Waxman got herself a spot at the LO Farmers Market this summer where she will be working her own booth dedicated solely to her crochet work. She plans on selling a plethora of original, handmade products that would make great gifts for a friend, family member, or simply for yourself. If you want to order a commission from Hannah J. Crochets, you can DM Waxman on Instagram, email her, or even just stop her in the hallway and ask. Make sure to follow @hannahjcrochets on Instagram so you can stay up to date on her upcoming markets and new product launches.
Jäger Collective
You heard it here first, folks: LOHS junior Monte Bump is starting his very own clothing brand! Bump, who has dabbled in the realm of fashion and reselling clothes before, has recently decided to take his expertise to the next level, thus Jäger Collective has been born. “We are starting with pants because that’s just the materials we are limited to right now, but after that we’re going to move on to T-shirts, sweaters, and, eventually, jewelry,” explained Bump, laying out the plans for the future of his business. Bump works with a friend of his to hand- sew pants out of various materials and of various designs often inspired by the time he spent in Germany last year. He is open to taking custom measurements and design ideas on commission as well. While Jäger is still somewhat in the works, Bump states that he is open to commissions for pants at any point. He advises those who hope to purchase a pair from him to reach out to him via email, his personal instagram, Jäger’s Tiktok account, or to just approach him in the hallway. “I’m probably going to go to college for either fashion design or marketing or business,” said Bump, explaining that starting Jäger is helping him look to the future. Bump definitely sews some cool clothes, so if you’re interested, make sure to check out Jäger Collective on Tiktok @jagerpdx.
