LOHS girls soccer prepares for a playoff run
As the girls soccer regular season is nearing an end, the team is looking forward to the playoffs. Currently, the team is ranked 12th in the state. The Lakers have a 6-6-1 overall record, and a 3-3 record in league play. On Oct. 22, the team hosted their rival the #10 Lakeridge Pacers. The Lakers won the game 2-1. “Our game against Lakeridge was no different than any other game. No matter who we are playing we are playing to win and compete, with the same mindset going into every game. The only difference with Lakeridge is the known rivalry, which only pushed us more to make the statement that we know we deserved” said senior Peyton Ivey.
Even though the goal is to win games, the team aspect and the bonding is very much prevalent in the group this year. Ivey also notes that “The best part about being on this team is you automatically get 18 close friends that you spend everyday with. We all know what we need to do to stay focused and get the results we are aiming towards, but we also know how to have fun while doing so.”
The last game before the playoffs was senior night on Oct. 29 vs #23 St. Mary’s at home.
