Color Wars celebrate unity and spirit

February 27, 2020

On Feb. 14, Lake Oswego High School held its second annual Color Wars.

Color Wars is the competition between all four classes and the administration and staff on who has the most school spirit. Each class attempts to wear the most of their color; a unified display of school spirit.

There was also an assembly with a Family Feud type game.

This game asked a series of questions in which the different classes answered to the best of their abilities.

Last year the now-graduated seniors won, and this year taking a considerable turn, the freshmen beat out every other team.

“I think that it’s such a fun unique experience and that our entire school participated and cheered on their fellow classmates,” reflected junior Lauren Davis. “I had a great experience, even though I got questions wrong, it was still a great time because everyone just laughed it off.”

Leading up to Color Wars and the assembly, there was also a spirit week.

Monday was a classic pajama/lazy day, Tuesday was a Mismatch day, Wednesday was a Hippie out, Thursday was a Valentine’s Day themed pink/red out, and lastly, Friday was Color Wars.

This year the freshmen wore navy, the sophomores wore white, juniors wore black and the seniors wore red.

“It’s definitely something I’ll remember for a while and [I] am so happy I got to participate this year!”
