Margaret Glad

Publicities Director – Senior Class

Margaret Glad (She/Her)

  • Why should a student, who has potentially never met or interacted with you, vote for you?

I believe that people who join class office are people who genuinely want to make the school a better place. If elected, i’ll make it my priority to make this year the best year yet, and to make up for lost time due to all of the crazy stuff going on right now. I’m very outgoing, and a good team player— I can work well with anyone and I truly want the best for everyone at our school.

  • What sets you apart from the other candidates?

I have a good grasp on what it takes to get large groups of people together for a common goal. I have lots of leadership experiences, and I know what it takes to be a positive and reliable leader. As publicities director, it will be my job to manage social media accounts and to publicize student events— and I know that I will succeed at this because I am capable at getting the word out for events and reaching out to people.

  • How would students know that you’re willing to put in the work for our school?

Anything that i’ve accomplished in my life, i’ve had to work hard for and I know what it takes to get the job done. I look forward to having a good year and I am confident that I can give that to the rest of the community. I love our school, and all I truly want to do is to make a positive impact.

  • What are your greatest weaknesses regarding your position/leadership? How will you work to combat that? What are your greatest strengths regarding your position/leadership? How will you use that to your advantage?

I would say that my greatest weakness is that i’ll have a busy year, im going to have my hands full with XC and track and everything that senior year brings me, but I can use this to my advantage as my life has always been busy and I thrive off of staying active. My greatest strength on the other hand is definitely having a full schedule, if i’ve learned anything while in quarantine it’s that I have to stay busy and that I don’t like just laying around, and since publicities director is a big job I know that I will work well with its demands and active schedule.

  • Is there anything else you would like to say to students reading this?

I hope that everyone and their families are staying well in these times. I will work hard, and I can’t wait to see you all soon!

Jack Thompson (He/Him)

  • Why should a student, who has potentially never met or interacted with you, vote for you?

I want there to be a lot more of students supporting each other. I plan on publicizing after school events and sports that have little to no student attendance and really getting the word out there when a club or team does well.

  • What sets you apart from the other candidates?

My commitment to the position. I’ve dreamed of running for class office my senior year and I though Publicities Director was the perfect position to accomplish my goals.

  • How would students know that you’re willing to put in the work for our school?

People who know me know my level of commitment, but for those who don’t I have 3 AP credits and straight A’s along with football, Boy Scouts and church service activities to show. I’m really invested in helping our school and my fellow students and I’m able and willing to put in the required work to accomplish that.

  • What are your greatest weaknesses regarding your position/leadership? How will you work to combat that? What are your greatest strengths regarding your position/leadership? How will you use that to your advantage?

My greatest weakness is that I’m overly ambitious. I can see myself biting off more than I can chew, but luckily I’ll have friends and fellow ASB members to help me out when that happens.

I would say my greatest strength is my ambition and my commitment to helping my school and my community. I just want to see my fellow classmates succeed and feel like the work they put in means something.

  • Is there anything else you would like to say to students reading this?

I just hope everyone’s staying safe and staying sane! Next school year’s gonna be great to make up for how much this one sucked as long as I have anything to say about it.
