Katelyn Leonard (She/Her)

• Why should a student, who has potentially never met or interacted with you, vote for you?

When you first meet me, I may seem shy at first but once you get to know me, my energetic side comes out. I’m an empathetic person, helping people whenever I can and always putting others before myself. With that I want our class of 2021 to leave a positives and lasting impact on our school

• What sets you apart from the other candidates?

I’m someone who will fight for my goals and what I believe in. I may be humble, but as of next year I want to stand up and make a change at LOHS. I plan on doing this through your support and your drive to also make LOHS a better place

• How would students know that you’re willing to put in the work for our school?

As a devoted varsity athlete and artist, I am driven to the point where when I want something, I make it happen. And as the president of art club, I know how timely projects can be. But, I am willing to put my all into them in order to better our school because I want us to leave next year as a grade knowing we made an impact at LOHS

• What are your greatest weaknesses regarding your position/leadership? How will you work to combat that? What are your greatest strengths regarding your position/leadership? How will you use that to your advantage?

Since I was little, I was afraid of judgement of other’s which often made me shy and introverted. As a senior now, I’m able to look back on my experience when I was younger and realize that other’s opinions should not affect my own. I want to be able to create the same environment in LOHS. I want our school to limit it’s judgement across campus. Especially in high school, people are often criticized for their likes and dislikes if it’s not within the majority. Being Vice President means that I will be able to give my insight on this problem. I want to make our students to feel like they belong at LOHS. Alienating and outcasting those who are different is something I do not stand for as an individual. I want to act on this. Working with the purpose of bettering others is one of my strongest traits especially as a leader. Using this I want to you to be able to walk down the hallways knowing you are comfortable in your skin and I want to achieve this through my goals as Vice President.

• Is there anything else you would like to say to students reading this?

I appreciate you for wanting to know more about who I am 🙂 I hope your quarantine has been going well and that you’re staying healthy mentally and physically throughout these hard times 💗

Elizabeth Bell (She/Her)

• Why should a student, who has potentially never met or interacted with you, vote for you?

My goals for next year are going to be geared to the entirety of the senior class. I want to be a voice for everyone and not just people I have already talked to in the past. If anyone wants to see a change in something, I want to be there to help be their voice in the class office.

• What sets you apart from the other candidates?

I believe that I have a strong determination to finish what I start, and I will not stop until what I am trying to achieve is able to happen. I am a very resilient person and I feel like that trait sets me apart.

• How would students know that you’re willing to put in the work for our school?

From my past active participation in our schools events I have already put in lots of my time for our school and I am a very open and accessible person to talk to so I am able to get out of my comfort zone to advocate for what our school needs to be better.

• What are your greatest weaknesses regarding your position/leadership? How will you work to combat that? What are your greatest strengths regarding your position/leadership? How will you use that to your advantage?

My greatest weakness is probably that I am very strong willed in finishing what I start so I don’t give up on things easily which can be a weakness when I focus in on one thing too much, but with so many things that I want to be able to accomplish I’m pretty good at spitting my time which will help me to combat my weakness by forcing me to focus on all the aspects of my job. My greatest strength is my determination to do what I promise, because I believe in not giving up until I am able to achieve what I want, I can use this to be able to get things that I need done for the senior class to have their best year.

• Is there anything else you would like to say to students reading this?

I really hope that I get the honor of being your guys senior Vice President because I truly love this class and I want to be able to do everything in my power to make sure our last year is the best year in every possible way 🙂
