Last month, it was revealed that 24 year old British pop singer Alexander O’Connor, more commonly known by his fans as Rex Orange County, was charged with six counts of sexual assault in the UK. Singer of many popular songs such as “Best Friend” and “Loving is Easy,” O’Connor was accused by a woman of assaulting her six times within two days in London’s West End, his Notting Hill home, as well as in a taxi according to “The Sun.”

Pop singer Rex Orange County recently had to cancel the remaining shows in his “Who Cares?” tour due to assault allegations.

In July, O’Connor canceled the remaining shows in his “Who Cares?” album tour due to “personal reasons,” which were unclear at the time but are now known to be related to the investigation. He said, “It is with a great deal of sadness to announce that due to unforeseen personal circumstances, I am having to spend some time at home this year and I will not be able to continue with touring as planned… This is the last thing I want to do.”

According to O’Connor’s publicist, “Alex is shocked by the allegations which he denies, and looks forward to clearing his name in court. He is unable to make any further comment because of the ongoing proceedings.” The provisional trial date is set for Jan. 3, 2023.
