Hey Lakers! Summer is over, and the school year has started. Some may be returning to the same old school, but don’t forget that some new students are stepping foot in LOHS for the first time! What do the freshmen think about the new school? 

Freshman Laythe Townsend said, “The hallways get super crowded and the school day is super long,” which doesn’t seem very fun, but usually the freshmen are the reason it’s so crowded. It might appear that he doesn’t like the school, but he also stated, “I get a lot of time to do homework in school, so I can spend more time with my friends outside of school and have more time to practice,” which seems like a plus. 

But what about the way the school is designed? The A-day B-day schedule works for most students, but some don’t like it, so let’s see what the freshmen think. Townsend remarked, “It makes it easy because I don’t need to remember a lot of classes.” That must have been a big change, so it’s good that they like it. Another student, freshman Aydin Baghdadi said, “I think it’s definitely a big change; [it’s] pretty good.” He also thinks that it is “very different from middle school, but pretty fun.” Overall, the freshmen are enjoying high school so far.
