Art comes in many forms, but sometimes there is something so profound that it surpasses artistic boundaries. This is exactly what the Five Nights at Freddy’s (FNAF) 2 movie is. It reintroduces iconic characters like Withered Freddy, its bold direction and passionate acting transform–what some may call a repetitive video game trope–into something that demands your attention and leaves you awestruck. The previous FNAF movie received warm reviews, but this time, they decided to do so much more. One can admire the upgrade from four animatronics to 11 with each having incredible accuracy and detail. The movie took a bold direction by including a scene straight from the gameplay of FNAF 2 by putting Mike in the office and having him fend off against attacks from the withered animatronics. It was exciting to see characters like Withered Bonnie climb through vents and stand in the office just like the videogame. The movie incorporates fan service flawlessly, having Mathew Patrick voice Toy Bonnie was awesome to see. An epic moment was when the FNAF 1 animatronics pull up at the end and defeat the toy animatronics like the avengers. It was thrilling to see Micheal Afton’s evil plan thwarted in such a cinematic way. It was on the same level of Henry’s speech at the end of FNAF 6; it was an awesome conclusion.
