How many of you were obsessed with the Disney movie about animals and their dreams? If you were obsessed with “Zootopia” growing up as much as I was, then you could be pleased to know that a second movie has come out! “Zootopia 2” came out just last year on Nov. 26. If you’re not fully yet on board with watching a Disney movie, let me tell you all the reasons why “Zootopia 2” should definitely be your next watch.
“Zootopia” centers around two main characters Judy and Nick. Judy’s long term dream of hers was to move to “Zootopia” and become a cop, to help make the world a better place. Rather than Nick being more of a lonely and sly character. Due to his past he’s more closed off, but learns how to slowly open up. At first glance can seem like just another kids’ movie, but it’s so much more than that. Both the first movie and the second had a deeper meaning, which has made the movies so much more special. If you were like me and watched “Zootopia” when you were little, you may not have picked up the message it’s trying to portray. Behind the cartoon animals, “Zootopia” both one and two, use really good story telling to tell a message. The first movie focuses on racism and the stereotypes that come with race, as well as how it affects families and different communities. In the world of “Zootopia”, there are predators versus prey, the predators being the minorities. So predators face the injustice of the stereotypes that affect their lives.
If you thought the first one was good, you would be very pleased with how wonderful and amazing the second one is. The jokes are cheesy but actually funny, not like your typical dad joke. Not only are the jokes actually pretty humorous, but the relationship development between Nick and Judy is a heartwarming journey. Plus, every new character is very lovable, other than the villains of course. “Zootopia 2” focuses on the other animal species we didn’t get to see in the first movie. Driving more deeply on specifically how the past history and false native can completely jeopardize how communities are preserved. Just as in this case the reptiles that lost their homes due to colonization, and everyone being that they’re not trustworthy. This is an important topic to bring up, especially to children who may not have learned about these topics before. “Zootopia 2” film makes it possible so the conversation can come up. “Zootopia 2” did an amazing job telling the story of colonization and how it deeply affects families and history itself. This isn’t one of those sequels that was clearly only just for money; the plot and story are very clearly well thought out. It’s clear that hard work was put into the making of “Zootopia 2”. All ages will enjoy the movie, whether for the story or just the beautiful animation. “Zootopia 2” will go down in history as one of the best movies ever made because of the way it was successful in telling more than just solving a crime, but as well as making a movie that many families can enjoy watching together.
