Internet-famous Mormon mom Taylor Frankie Paul is widely known for being the founder of the TikTok group called Mom Tok. Formed in 2020, the group was created to collaborate with other Mormon mom influencers and post videos together. When the group first appeared online, there were only five members: Paul, Mayci Neeley, Whitney Leavitt, Mikayla Matthews, Miranda McWhorter, and Camille Munday. The group gained attention for posting videos together, but around May 2022, a swinging scandal involving Paul and McWhorter surfaced online. Because of this, in September 2024 the show “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” was released. This major scandal marked a turning point for Mom Tok, as it would later launch their rise to fame.
Around March 16, 2026, Paul was finishing up filming for her season of The Bachelorette, which was set to air on March 22, 2026. At the same time, the third season of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” also premiered on March 12, 2026. As a result, there was a lot of increased media attention surrounding the Mom Tok group, especially on Paul. However, this attention soon shifted into negative press, as shocking news about Paul broke the internet. Paul’s ex-partner, Dakota Mortensen, made claims alleging that Paul had been physically abusive during their relationship. This situation had been previously brought up in the media, since on Feb. 17, 2023, Paul was arrested for domestic violence. The arrest was filmed and shown in the first season of “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.” But what made this situation different and what took the internet by surprise was the release of footage from the incident. The full body camera video, which had not been fully shown in the series nor brought up again, was posted by TMZ News on March 19, 2026, exposing Paul being abusive towards Mortensen. But what really made people upset is that in the video you can also see Paul throwing metal chairs at her partner, one of which ended up allegedly hitting her infant daughter who was nearby. Following the incident, Paul lost partial custody of her son with Mortensen and is now limited to supervised visitations. After these developments, the filming of season five of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” was put on pause, and Paul’s Season of “The Bachelorette” was scrapped.
