LOHS Girls Golf has had an incredibly successful year so far after finishing first in the Three Rivers League (TRL) and breaking a few records along the way. The team even hosts the TRL player of the year, junior Hailey Lim. Lim is an elite-level golfer who earned herself TRL player of the year and won an individual district championship.
“I think as a team we all really improved and it helped us all play to the best of our abilities,” said Lim, crediting her success to the talent and motivation of her team. She explained how grateful she is to be a part of a team with such a great dynamic. “It makes it a lot more fun and it helps us play better golf,” noted Lim, explaining how the tight-knit nature of her team also helps to improve their level of play.
During her freshman year at LOHS, Lim won an individual district championship, and this year she has won district champion and player of the year. “Every year I’m just trying to improve on my own scores and my overall game,” said Lim. She explained that she tries her best to only focus on internal goals and uses herself as motivation to be better each year. Additionally, Lim has been named to the TRL first team all three years.
This year, Lim and the Laker Girls Golf team took first place in state for the second year in a row, and Lim individually won fourth. This is an incredible accomplishment for both Lim and the rest of the Laker Girls Golf team. Congrats!
