LO City League lights competitive fires

With City League starting up, there have been some amazing competitions that have led to an updated power scoring of the current City League battle. With many kids from LO participating, but the ability to create your own teams, there has been a lot of buzz going around about the scoreboard so far.

 For girls City League rankings, we have Basket Ballin’ Ladies, Air Ballaz, Bronny Babes, Jail Blazers, Gronk Ballers, Britt Barbie, Diva Dunkers, Dunkaroos, and Alley-Oops in first now with Lake Oswego juniors Lilah Turley, Una O’hare, Parker Lemm, Meredith Rubenstein, Millie Prager and more from Lakeridge. They have won both of their games this season putting them on a 3-0 win streak, and first for power rankings as of Dec. 8. 

For boys City League rankings, we have Crackerjacks, The Frijolitos, Fruit Hoops, Walmart Withdrawals, Guap Giddy, Team Benazzi, Chino Hills, Yeat Elite, and in first as of Dec. 15 on city league boys power rankings is Team Big Money. Lake Oswego’s well known Chino Hills is currently ranked third behind Team Big Money and Yeat Elite. Having won the 2022 City League Championships, they are currently standing on a 1-0 win record. The team consists of seniors Karsten Krebs, Max Brauner, Finley Smith, Jonah Barkoff, Nicholas Vilarino, Conor Croteau, Brooks Olsen, Gunnar Olsen, Max Adler and Connor McNeill. 

Junior Meredith Rubenstein on leading Girls team Alley-Oops expressed her excitement for the season. “Our team’s goals for city league are to hopefully win the championship. So far, the season has been super fun, and we’ve been working super well as a team.” Being on a 3-0 win streak, they have a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks. Big aspirations are also in order with Chino Hills, Senior Connor McNeill stated “Our team’s goal for the year is definitely to take home our second title.” Although their season started off a little rocky, they are just getting started. Stay tuned for the rankings as the season progresses, it’s sure to be an interesting and exciting one with lots of good competition and fun games.
