The NBA Playoffs have gotten underway, and the games have been very entertaining. The postseason consists of two conferences with eight teams from each conference making Playoffs.
In the east, the top seeded Cavaliers earned the top seed with their impressive regular season record of 64-18. The Celtics took the two seed, and the New York Knicks rounded out the top three. The Pacers, Bucks, Pistons, Magic and the Heat were the other teams that made it. With the first round concluding, we have already seen some amazing games in the second round. Surprisingly to most, the Knicks beat the Celtics in six games 4-2. The Pacers also surprised everyone and dominated the Cavaliers, winning the series in five games 4-1. Tyrese Haliburton has been playing extremely well and the Pacers are looking like a dark horse to make the NBA Finals. It was absolute chaos in the east and none of the favorites ended up winning in the second round.
In the west, the Oklahoma City Thunder are the number one team, and the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers are the two and three seeds. Unfortunately for the Rockets and Lakers, they were both eliminated in the first round, which has set up some great second round matchups. The Thunder are currently battling it out with three time MVP Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets, while Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves are up against Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors. The Thunder are the favorite in the eyes of many to make the finals, but they are having a difficult time getting past the Nuggets. The series is currently tied 3-3, and it wouldn’t be surprising if either of these teams went on to win the finals. The Timberwolves won the series against the Warriors in dominating fashion 4-1, but Steph Curry wasn’t available for any of the games besides the first one. If the Warriors could have gotten him back in time, they would have been able to compete better and possibly win the series.
These games have been amazing, with many arguing it has been the best postseason in years. Everyone is at the top of their game and competing extremely hard, so it will be interesting to see who comes out on top.
